It’s October ‘21, its breast cancer awareness month and this one is for you.
The you who felt like losing the earth from under your feet when you first felt a lump, the you who didn’t know who to call or what to do next, the you who walked into the doctor’s office with legs trembling, the you who didn’t sleep ‘till the results came in, the you who got scared but fought fearlessly anyway. The you who got angry and furious and desperate and oh, so many other things, but decided that a lump won’t change you or your life. Or it will, but it definitely won’t stop it. The you who was breaking down inside but forced a smile for the sake of others. The you who will forever have a scar reminding you but also showing you how hard you fought and how far you have come. It’s also for you. You the mum whose first thought was not herself but her children or you the mother that wished you could rip the lump off the breast of your child and add it to yours instead. Or you the father that felt confused and hopeless but tried to understand and support anyway. Oh you the friend, the sister, the brother, the you who hugged so tight and forced a smile only because you had to be the strong one, the you who sat down in hairdressers and held hands so hard because maybe that way you could take away some of it.
The you who bloomed regardless.
And so please, (and i can’t stress this enough) check your titties regularly. If you don’t know how, then ask for help, you insanely beautiful, flawed and magical human.
Here, at Pardón my vase we live by «to have is to give» and so 30% from every breast cancer awareness paper vase is donated to Europa Donna Cyprus to continue their valuable work.
